An Imperial Russian Stout fermented with Belgian yeast. An original Durham beer.
Tasting Notes
A winey, smokey aroma, with alcohol esters and brown sugar, subsides into flavours of winey plum, dark toffee and wood. Alcohol and intense flavours give a hint of calvados on the finish.
Recommendations
Drink on its own so that its rich complexity is fully appreciated. The large 500ml bottle is ample to share. For a full development of character keep for at least six months.
