Inspired by our visits to the forests of France in the search for topquality oak, OAK CROSS is a vatted malt whisky, a proportion of which has undergone secondary maturation in casks specially made for us.

These special casks have French oak heads and American oak bodies. Using them gives us the ‘perfect balance’ between the lighter characters that whiskies aged in American oak give and the spice and dried fruit characters from French oak. When we bottle, we choose some of these special casks to deliver an extra level of flavour not ordinarily achieveable. The result is a malt whisky with a soft palate and flavour notes of clove and vanilla, accenting a sweet maltiness and subtle fruit character.

Recommendations: On its own with a splash of water, with ice or mixed.
Distillery Sourcing: All Highland single malts, notably from the villages of Brora, Alness and Corran.
Wood: Primary maturation in a mix of first-fill and refill American oak. Secondary maturation in ‘Oak Cross’ casks of French and American oak.
Bottling Details: Bottled at 43% Abv. Natural Colour. Not Chill Filtered. A natural, slight haze will form in this whisky when water is added or when it gets cold. This is a good thing!
