Ever since Matilda Bay first started brewing beer, we have been committed to honouring the traditions of our craft. That’s why we brew a classic pilsner style lager – highly hopped, crisp and golden – true to the style first brewed circa 1842 in Plzen, Bohemia (now in the Czech Republic).

Bohemian Pilsner has a light, golden colour and a distinctive hop character with spicy and floral aromas. Importantly, its bitter finish is balanced across the palate with rich fruity esters and a full malt flavour.

Powerful aromatics are driven by 100% premium pale malts and late kettle hopping of authentic Saaz hops from the Czech Republic. We ferment and store our Bohemian Pilsner longer than most other pilsners to allow for the complexities of its unique flavour to fully develop.

Bohemian works perfectly with roast meats, such as pork or crispy duck, and with spicy dishes like salt & pepper chilli squid or Thai curries.
