An approachable blend with cherry and blackcurrant aromas. An initial sensation of sweet fruit and cassis on a rich palate with hints of dark chocolate and cedary oak.

TASTING AND FOOD PAIRING

* Colour: Deep claret.
* Aroma: Blackcurrant and cherry aromas waft over an undercurrent of cedar and spice.
* Palate: An initial sensation of sweet fruit and cassis leads into a rich palate showing hints of licorice and dark chocolate along with more savoury blackcurrant and cedar characters.

Match with roasted meats with a red wine jus reduction or spaghetti bolognaise.

VINEYARDS
Fruit primarily from our own Trinders Vineyard. Soils comprised of laterite gravel loam over sandy clay sub-soil.

VINIFICATION
‘Bordeaux’ style blend of XX% cabernet sauvignon and XX% merlot. Fermented separately on skins for up to three weeks, basket pressed and 15 months maturation in French and American oak (35% new).
