Amarone is a traditional and unique method of wine-making crafted only from Valpolicella grown grapes which are dried on racks and then pressed and fermented. The grapes for our Amarone are from the Villa Rizzardi estate where the vines average no less that 30 years of age. Amarone wines are higher in alcohol due to fermentation of the dried grapes and not from the addition of alcohol. Our Villa Rizzardi Amarone spends over 36 months in French and Central European oak barrels. Villa Rizzardi Amarone can be cellared for many years.

We recommend it to be decanted and served (16-18° C or 60-65° F) with roasted or braised meat, game dishes such as venison, beef stroganoff, curry based dishes or with cheeses such as Parmesan or Pecorino.

Ageing potential: over 10 years.
