Cropped at very low levels from some of the finest vineyard sites in Marlborough, New Zealand, Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir is opulent and aromatic with a silky palate that reveals layers of dark red fruits, savoury dried herbs, and deliciously toasty oak.

TASTING AND FOOD PAIRING

* Colour: Dense ruby
* Aroma: Enticing aromas of ripe juicy cherries and dark fruitcake are enriched by the plush scent of new leather and hints of toasty oak.
* Palate: The palate is supple and fine with a delicious plummy fruit character layered over charry oak and silky tannins.
* Traditional pairings such as duck and lamb enhance the fruit sweetness of the wine.

VINEYARDS
An extensive range of clones, planted on aged alluvial gravels containing some clay. Yields are very low yields and the fruit is hand-picked.

VINIFICATION
Crushed and destemmed before a ‘cold soak’ to extract colour and tannin. Daily plunging of skins. Fermentation, maturation, and malolactic fermentation in French oak barriques.
