Produced in very limited quantities and only released in exceptional years, Afincado wines are sourced from two of the most treasured plots of land in Mendoza, Argentina. This single vineyard Malbec is produced at 1067 metres/3500 feet above sea level from own-rooted 1929 vines producing the pinnacle of varietal fruit expression from Terrazas de los Andes winery, featuring exquisite violet, spices and berries.

TASTING AND FOOD PAIRING

* Colour: deep, dark red with purple shades.
* Aroma: Expressive and complex, black cherries and dry plums, followed by caramel and smoky accents and violet.
* Palate: impressive structure and concentration, with ripe and powerful tannins. Eelegant and complex, with hints of plums, blackberries and cherries amidst ever present floral notes. Ageing will enhance the wine's complexity.
* Best with haute cuisine, tomato-based sauce, beef and game meat, aromatic and spicy Latin or fusion food.


VINEYARDS
Vines planted in 1929 at Las Compuertas Vineyard, Vistalba district at 1067 metres / 3500 feet above sea level. Original rootstock Malbec with traditional furrow irrigation, handpicked and hand-filtered from a single vineyard.

VINIFICATION
3-5 weeks of maceration. Only the free-run wine was taken to 100% new French oak barrels for 18 months.
