Appearance: Deep amber, polished beech. First or second fill European oak butt? Moderate beading, slow legs.
Aroma: Light nose prickle only; a fresh and cheerful nose, but somewhat closed. Sanded hardwood, dried orange peel (even faded pomander). After a while the hint of candle wax - Clynelish’s key-note - but subdued. Water releases more waxiness, and also the natural moorland scents – heather pollen and bog myrtle – one associates with Clynelish. Becomes somewhat oily in the development.
Taste: Tasted straight, the texture is smooth, and the taste very sweet, becoming slightly ascerbic and tannic. Warming, with a medium-length finish. More waxy with water (almost teeth-coating); very smooth. Sweet, with light acidity and a tingling tannic effect. Medium length, with a pleasant ‘confectionery’ aftertaste.
Comment: Clynelish is a great malt, and this is an unusual (and unusually good) example, being drawn from a butt which has contributed to and rounded off the original distillery character, rather than dominating it.

Det var efter ett antal år av provande som man 2009 bestämde sig för att släppa sin första omgång med 11 olika Single Cask Whisky under eget namn.
Deras motto är "special bottlings for special moments”. För att vara säkra på att hålla en hög standard så är dom noga med detaljerna som bland annat nogrannt fatval och speciell förpackning.
Man har idag samlat på sig många fat som i framtiden kommer att buteljeras och vi kan alla se fram emot kommande buteljeringar från dessa whiskyälskare som är stationerade i Tyskland.
